Wildfire, pipeline damage cause water interruption in Malaybalay City

MALAYBALAY CITY (BukidnonNews.Net) The Malaybalay City Water District - Prime Water cited a wildfire in Brgy. Dalwangan, Malaybalay City to have caused the April 12, 2024 water supply interruption, which lasted from early morning to evening. 

In its emergency customer advisory on Friday, MCWD reported that "necessary repair" was needed for their damaged 8-inch transmission line. MCWD blamed a wildfire, which damaged pipeline "in a remote area".

Water interruption was observed in the following areas, Dalwangan, Kalasungay, Patpat, and some parts of Sumpong, based on th advisory. A staff who responded to a phone inquiry about the interrruption said the damage was in Lalawan, a water source. 

Another advisory posted hours later said another pipeline was damaged in "section C" of the transmission line of the Malaybalay City Government Water Supply System, provider of bulk water supply, from 9a.m. Friday. The areas affected were: Poblacion Brgy. 1 to 12, Sumpong, Casisang, San Jose, Laguitas, Linabo, Aglayan, Cabangahan, and Can-ayan. The advisory did not provide details on the cause of the damage.  (BukidnonNews.Net)
